Erb — Privacy Policy

The short version: Erb collects no personal data. No accounts, no backend, no analytics, no tracking. Your location, if you allow it, is used on your device only and never transmitted.

Informational only. Erb is an independent informational directory of dispensaries licensed by Jamaica's Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA). Erb does not sell, deliver, or facilitate the purchase of cannabis in any way — there is no cart, ordering, reservation, or delivery in the app. All purchases happen in person at licensed shops, subject to Jamaican law. Erb is for adults 18 and over and is not affiliated with the CLA or any dispensary. Nothing in the app is legal or medical advice.

Who we are

Erb is a directory of licensed cannabis dispensaries ("herb houses") across Jamaica, published by Hemiogenic Interactive LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles your information.

What we collect

Nothing. Erb has no accounts, no sign-up, no backend server, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data.

How your information is used

Location (optional). If you grant location permission, your position is used only on your device to sort shops by distance ("Near me") and show you on the map. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it is not stored. You can deny the permission and the app works fully without it.

Favourites. Shops you save are stored only in local storage on your own device. They never leave your phone, and uninstalling the app removes them.

Storage & security

The full directory — shops, hours, parishes, the legal-buying guide — is bundled inside the app and works offline. There is no Erb server holding any of your data, so there is nothing for anyone to breach on our side.

Sharing & third-party links

We share nothing, because we collect nothing. However, the app links out to third-party content: shop websites and live menus, map tiles (OpenStreetMap), directions (Google Maps links), and shop logos/photos loaded from the public web. When you open or load third-party content, that site or service receives the standard technical information any web request carries (such as your IP address), under its own privacy policy — not ours. We don't control those sites, and any purchase you make on a shop's own website happens entirely between you and that shop.

Your choices & deletion

Location permission can be granted, denied, or revoked at any time in your device settings. Favourites can be removed in the app. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on your device. There is no account to delete because none exists.

Children

Erb is for adults 18 and over and shows an age confirmation on first launch. It is not directed at children, and because no data is collected from anyone, no data is collected from minors.

Changes

If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version adds online features), we will update this page before the change takes effect.
