Jamaican Ludi — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Jamaican Ludi is developed and published by Hemiogenic Interactive ("we", "us").
This policy explains what information the game handles, why, and the choices you have.
It applies to Jamaican Ludi on PC (Steam), on mobile devices, and on Facebook Instant Games.
What we collect and why
- Anonymous player account. The game creates an anonymous player ID
through Unity Gaming Services (UGS). Together with your chosen nickname and avatar,
your game progress, virtual-currency balances, and unlocked items, it exists so your
game works and your progress is saved.
- Online play. When you play online, connection data (IP address,
session and relay information) is processed by Unity's multiplayer services to run
the match. Leaderboard entries show your nickname and results to other players.
- Purchases. Successful purchases are recorded as entitlements so
your items stay yours. Payments are handled by the store (Steam, Google Play, or the
App Store) — we never see your card details.
- Voice chat. Live match audio is relayed to the other players in
your match by Epic Online Services. Voice chat is off unless you turn it on, and you
choose how it transmits in Settings > Audio: push-to-talk, where audio leaves your
device only while you hold the control, or open mic, where it transmits whenever you
speak. Voice is not recorded and not stored by us.
- Crash reports and analytics. Crash reporting (Firebase
Crashlytics) and gameplay analytics (Unity Analytics) run only with your consent,
which you can give or withdraw in Settings → Privacy & Ads.
- Push notifications. Optional. A notification token is registered
only after you opt in, and you can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.
- Invite links. If you install from a friend's invite link on
Android, the Google Play install referrer may carry the room code or friend code your
friend shared, so the game can bring you to their table. It contains no personal
data beyond the code itself and is processed only on your device.
Advertising (mobile versions that include ads)
Rewarded video is opt-in and plays only when the player taps a clearly labelled offer.
One full-screen ad may also appear after a match has finished — never mid-turn, and never
before a match starts. A new player sees none until they have completed three matches; it
is skipped if a rewarded ad played in the previous ten minutes; there are at least three
minutes between any two; and no more than eight are shown per day. There are no banner
ads. Players who own the one-time Remove Ads purchase see neither kind.
- Ads are served by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). When an ad is requested, Unity
receives device information (device model, OS version, IP-derived coarse location,
and the advertising identifier where your system settings permit it) to select ads,
limit repetition, and detect fraud. We do not use ad mediation, so no other ad
network receives your data from the game.
- On iOS, the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before any identifier is
shared. Declining still shows ads, non-personalised.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in system settings; the game
works fully with non-personalised ads.
- When you finish a rewarded ad, the game records the completion (the placement and
your anonymous player ID) to deliver the reward and to limit how often each offer
can be claimed per day.
- You choose between personalised and limited ads on first launch and can change that
choice any time in Settings → Support → Privacy & Ads. Limited ads are served
without using your advertising identifier for personalisation.
If the version of the game you are using contains no ads, none of the
advertising processing above occurs.
Facebook Instant Games
On Facebook Instant Games, Meta hosts the game. We use a game-scoped Facebook player identifier and signed verification data to connect your Facebook game identity to your Unity game account and saved progress. The integration does not request your Facebook name or profile photo; the game uses the nickname and avatar you select. When purchases are available, Meta processes the payment. We verify signed purchase information, including the product and transaction identifiers and account ownership, to deliver virtual currency and prevent duplicate credits. We do not receive payment-card details. Ads on this version are provided through Meta's advertising services, subject to availability and your applicable Facebook ad settings. Invites and challenges you choose to share may carry a room code or game-player identifier so the recipient can open the intended game interaction. Voice chat is unavailable in the browser version. You can request deletion of your game data through the existing account-deletion page; this does not delete your Facebook account.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Virtual coins and items have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
Jamaican Ludi is a board game, not a gambling product.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The game
is rated for players 13 and over.
Sharing
Data is processed by the service providers named above (Unity Gaming Services, Epic
Online Services for voice, Firebase with consent, Steam on PC, Google Play / Apple for
purchases, and Unity Ads in ad-supported versions) solely to
provide their part of the game. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account and its
data at any time — in the game under Settings → Account → Delete Account, or from the
account deletion page,
which also works if you no longer have the game installed. Purchase records may be
retained where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your
data. Contact us at support@hemiogenic.com
with your player ID (shown in Settings) and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and note the change
in the game or on this page.
